Supersad(e)

August 7, 2018

Supersad(e) iterations merge slit-scan and lenticular photography aesthetics with Edvard Munch’s The Scream.

The parallel and layered visual narratives are a response to the modern audience’s increased bandwidth to process several storylines and point of views simultaneously. This is reminiscent of the animated GIF and GIF sets.

The soundtrack is a mashup of Erik Satie’s Trois Gnossiennes No 2. (1893) and played samples of A Town With An Ocean View from the soundtrack of Kiki’s Delivery Service (Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, 1989) by Joe Hisaishi (1989)
